Location of Illusion Forest in Hora.
|Pokémon World Locations|
Illusion Forest (幻覚森 Genkaku Mori), also called Fox Spirit Woods (妖狐森林 Yōko Shinrin) is a forest which lies between Freesia Town and Gardenia Town. It is the first forest that trainers in Hora reach, and is famed as the home of wild Zorua and Zoroark, as well as the residence of the elusive, uncapturable Ninetales. Due to the Zorua and Zoroark that inhabit the forest, illusions are cast around the forest that form a maze, and many people are known to get lost inside.
Illusion Forest is a deep and sprawling woodland expanding across Route 2 reaching to Gardenia Town in the north and to Freesia Town in the south. The trees in this area have grown so dense that light has trouble getting through, and because of this the forest seems dark and gloomy, an effect easily added to by the local Zorua and Zoroark. The grass in the forest grows wild. There are some areas, such as where the Zorua live, that one can only reach using Cut. There is rumored to be a lake hidden inside the forest. Like all forests, it is home to a host of bug-type Pokémon. They are not very powerful, but many can inflict status ailments, the most common of which is Poison. Berry trees and Apricorn trees grow here. There are also several warning signs telling one to beware of both Beedrill and Vespiquen. There is a large river located in the forest where a few water Pokémon such as Oshawott may be found.
Due to the confusing nature of this forest, many trainers tend to drop items. Such items that can be found are:
- Rare Candy ×2
- Poké Ball
- Potion ×3
- Full Restore
- Zoroark (rare)
- Oshawott (rare)
