Jason's Zoroark (唖畑のゾロア Ahatake's Zoroark) is the third Pokémon that he caught in his travels through Hora.

History[]

Physiology[]

Zorua is a fox-like Pokémon, mainly slate-gray in coloration with red and black accents on its head and feet. Zorua's ears are triangular with dark insides, and it has a large, whorled scruff of fur on its head, tipped with red coloration. Its eyes appear to possess no pupils, and its eyelids and circular "eyebrow" markings are red. Zorua possesses a ruff of black fur around its neck, and limbs tipped with red. Its tail is bushy, and when it opens its mouth small fangs can be seen developing.

Abilities and Traits[]

Zorua are capable of changing their physical appearance. Unlike the transformations that are caused by the move Transform, this transformation is merely an illusion, allowing Zorua to keep its own type and moves. As evident in its movie appearance, whenever a Zorua takes on a human form, its tail still remains; when its tail is touched, the Zorua reverts back to its true form instantly. Zorua, along with its evolution, are the only Pokémon capable of learning Night Burst and Foxfire.

Moves Improvised[]

  • Giga Shadow Ball: A combination move used by Zoroark, it releases several Shadow Balls at the same time which collide with each other, merging into a larger Shadow Ball with explosively enhanced power. This is known to be the first method used to keep an attack at bay long enough to escape. Zoroark can also use this technique simply by increasing the size and power of its Shadow Ball.
  • Shadow Slash: A combination move where Zoroark creates a Shadow Ball in front of it, and then pierces the Shadow Ball with it's Night Slash, imbuing the Dark-type move with qualities of the Ghost-type Shadow Ball, enhancing it's power.
  • Shadow Ace: A combination between Aerial Ace and Shadow Ball. When performing this technique, Zoroark flies at the opponent, flips in the air, then it becomes engulfed in streaks of white light- then it engulfs its body in the dark energy of Shadow Ball, causing the white light to turn black. Vanishing, it phases through the opponent, breaching their defenses before unleashing the Shadow Ball. The aura of Shadow Ball itself is what allows Aipom to move through the opponent- as Ghost and Normal are opposing types.
