It starts out as an Abra, which Ryan caught at the beginning of his adventures in Kanto. It evolved into Kadabra during the Indigo League Championship, allowing Ryan to win his final match.
After his promotion to Gym Leader in Hora, Kadabra is revealed to have evolved into Alakazam and has become a central figure in Ryan's team.
Biology[]
Alakazam is characterized by its human-like structure and its large mustache. It has grown slightly since evolving from Kadabra and has become much more lanky. Alakazam now has brown sections over its forearms and knees. It has lost the Zener markings and its tail which it had as a Kadabra, and its head (and more importantly, its brain) has become much larger, giving it extremely powerful mental powers. It is bipedal with three toes on each foot, each of which has a white claw, and an extremely prominent mustache (which is less prominent in females). It wields a silver spoon in each hand which acts as an amplifier for its special abilities.
Each Alakazam carries two spoons everywhere it goes. These spoons are said to increase this Pokémon's psychic ability greatly.
Abilities & traits[]
It is said that Alakazam is known to have mastered every type and form of psychic ability, including, but not limited to, telekinesis, telepathy, ESP, psionic abilities, levitation, defensive techniques, mind control, and telekinetic blasts. Alakazam are said to have excellent memory and can remember everything that it has experienced upon hatching as an Abra, and has an IQ that exceeds 5,000, making it the most intelligent non-legendary Pokémon. Upon possessing amazing psychic skills and knowledge, Alakazam is proficient with the use of the elemental punches, giving it the ability to cause serious damage on any foe that resist it's psychic moves. Although Alakazam is quite fragile and prefers to use it's psychic abilities for movement and battle, it is quite capable of learning a broad range of fighting moves. As a fully evolved Pokémon, Alakazam is capable of using the moves Hyper Beam and Giga Impact. Alakazam, and its pre-evolution, Kadabra, are the only known Pokémon that learn Kinesis.
Alakazam's Synchronize passes on status problems to the opponent that caused the problem. Synchronize will not pass on the Sleep or Frozen status conditions, or if the status condition was obtained from items such as the Flame Orb. Synchronize will have no effect if the other Pokémon has a type or ability that prevents them from being Poisoned, Paralyzed, or Burned.
